PART ONE. EXPLORE 21ST CENTURY SKILLS

As we discussed in the class, our course is based on the National Educational Technology Standards which are partially based on ideas from The Partnership for 21st Century Skills.

This short video you will watch illustrates these standards.

PART TWO. WHAT DO THE EXPERTS SAY ABOUT 21st CENTURY LEARNING?

I want to separate you into two groups.  Each group will watch one video.  Then each group needs to create a Wordle image to summarize what they have learned from the video.

Task 1. Watch the assigned video with your group members

Task 2. While watching the video, write one paragraph of your thoughts about 21st century learners here.

Task 3. Merge group member’s paragraphs to one document and copy and paste it into the Wordle. (3 mins)

Task 4. Capture the Wordle result and save it as an image (.jpg file)

Task 5. Insert your image on the right side of the table in the Google document.

PART THREE. COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION CENTERS

For about three weeks, we are learning about Communication & Collaboration (C&C) in Education with technology and creating educational resources.

EXPLORE – CREATE – SHARE – REFLECT

  • EXPLORE: I asked you to come to the class with your best/worst group work experiences. Share your experiences with your group members and create a scenario for “How to enhance collaborative learning”
  • CREATE: Video about Collaborative Learning
  • SHARE: Tool Commercial
  • REFLECT: Reflections
